REDELIJKHEID
A couple of weeks ago, I went to Park Hoge-Veluwe for a photo/gear meet. The meet was organised by the (or at least one of the) biggest geek/tech fora in the Netherlands. Here are some photos of that day.
The photos were taken with my Leica M9 + Leica 50mm Summilux Asph and the Fujifilm X-T1 + 18-55mm.
Last Monday we went to Amsterdam for a visit to the Rijksmuseum, and some general sightseeing in Amsterdam. The visit to the Museum was what you would call memorable.
First,
I hadn't been there before. The times I wanted to go it was closed for
renovations (which took more than 10 years to complete). Second, the museum got evacuated around 10:45AM.
Last weekend, I hooked up with >30 (other) photogs/nerds/geeks/whateveryoucallthem in the Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem
(NL). Objective to capture some animals (on film or digital media), and
to talk about everything (but not limited to) related to photography.
I
attended several of these meetings over the years, and I must say that
these outings are always a lot of fun. This time I brought my Leica M9
(28mm, 35mm and 50mm), and my Nikon D300 (with the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8
VR).
Apart from the mainstream gear that was around (Canon, Nikon with their $$$ L/Pro lenses), there were some oldies as well. A Canon VT rangefinder (with a rapidwinder in the bottom plate) from the early 50's, with some Canon 39mm screw lenses that were almost as old as the camera.

I definitely wouldn't want to live there, but is it nice to make photos some cases :-)
After I acquired a Leica M9 with peripheral equipment, I decided to document my M9 learning experiences on a seperate blog on my website. I don't know if I'll keep it like this. I might move the content to this blog. Don't know yet. Time will tell.
Anyway, in the mean time I've added some content to the new Leica blog. Check it out. I hope you'll find it usefull.
Since the Leica still lingers in my head, these videos aren't really helping. Thankfully, my bank account isn't cooperating at this moment.

Don't know how it happened, but last night I stumbled upon several dSLR (Nikon/Canon) versus Rangefinder (Leica) comparisons. Something, I wish hadn't happen. Reading through these reviews / comparisons / user experiences made the (digital) rangefinder concept very appealing. Especially when you're a non-studio / non-portrait / non-macro / non-action shooter..... which fits my profile for about 95%.
