Google+ Custom URL

Google+ introduced a new (shiny) feature recently called Custom URL's. Up till now people had to communicate these long URL's if you needed to find someone on Google+. Mine for example is: https://plus.google.com/u/0/105217840082627216167/. Not a real slick way of presenting yourself on the Interwebs. When you log in to your Google+ account you get the option of getting one of those URL's for 'free'. It basically is your screen-name in the URL.

Mine would be http://google.com/+GuillaumeRaisonnable/. Would be, because, I'm not getting mine. The reason for this is that you need to leave your mobile phone number with Google for so-called verification purposes. By doing this I would be giving away another piece of privacy for something shiny. Something a lot of other people will be more than willing to do so. Just remember that the NSA never had it any easier since the arrival of social media to violate your privacy.

Best 'Unboxing Videos' Ever

It's the best, mainly because it's terrible. It's a montage of several unboxing videos of the Google Nexus phone/tablet thinghy. I guess I would have thrown the entire box + contents out of the window. Google can learn a lot from other companies like; Nikon, Canon, Leica, Apple... Hell, even the shrink wrap on Microsoft products are easier to remove. Unboxing is an integral part of the new gadget/thinghy experience nowadays.

Google Apps Harassment / Spam

My mailbox receives e-mails from Google on a daily basis. All these e-mails are regarding the 'upgrade' of MY Google Apps account. The problem is, I don't have a Google Apps account. I have a Google Analytics account for some of my websites (this being one of them).

At first they say you have an account.

Google Apps Spam

And when you try to login to that account, they say that I don't have an account.

So explain this; why do I get upgrade e-mails for something I don't have?

A typical example of using existing database information for luring people into getting other services.
